Jeannyvett Colón, MM, is the clarinet and beginner piano professor at Alison’s World of Music in Gonzales, LA. From Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Colón holds a BM from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, and a MM in clarinet performance from the University of New Mexico. As a clarinetist, she has performed in many places around US including the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. She also appears on the latest recording of the UNM Wind Symphony, the album titled Fascinating Ribbons released in 2009. Having private teaching experience for over 10 years, she has found a genuine passion for teaching music to people of all ages, especially to beginners, on her two favorite instruments: clarinet and piano. Mrs. Colón strongly believes that clear and well transmitted instruction at the first steps of learning an instrument is crucial for the future development of performance of an individual. Jeannyvett is currently continuing her musical studies at Louisiana State University working on her music teaching certification.
